09:24 am - ...It's not a temporary issue... Good Saturday morning~ I got to sleep in till after 8am this morning. That's late for me. Made myself a caramel mocha, fed the dogs and got on-line. Life is pretty good today. Finally got that $1 raise at the coffee shop. Only two other people at our Caribou make more than I do. That's a pretty good feeling since I just started in August and everyone else has been there since they opened in January. We had our holiday "cheer patrol" meeting yesterday morning in Westlake. Corporate America brainwashes everyone - but it pays the bills.
I worked at Kaufmann's till 10pm Thursday. I really wanted to stop at the Outpost in Brimfield and hang out with the Blu Vertaal guys but right as I was getting ready to pull into the drive Drew called and needed me to pick him up in 45 minutes. Kids = responsibilities = ruined plans. Think before you have kids. I hope you guys rocked out and had a blast hanging out with The Samples.
So I came home and hung out for a bit with Cortney and Thomas, picked up Drew and his friend and then went to bed. Such an exciting life I lead.
Last night I attended the annual reverse raffle for the golf club to which Tige's friends belong. We've been going for years now. The food is never worth the $50 ticket price but we have fun hanging with his friends and occasionally we win some money. Last night was no different. Steak dinner (I don't eat meat) with salad, baked potato, roll and green beans (about 7 green beans, actually!). We won $60 in the end, so not so bad.
This morning Tige went to breakfast with his buddies, like he does every Saturday morning, and then went to work for a few hours. Cortney spent the night at Ryan's house after the Bonk show last night, I hope she behaved herself. Drew and Maggie are still sleeping after gorging themselves on Halloween candy before bed last night. And I have to work 3:30 to 11:30 at Caribou tonight.
Kaufmann's cut all the part time employees hours to under 20 per week. Everyone was bitching about it when I got to work Thursday night. I think I was the only one happy about it! They have me down to about 15 per week, which is what I had asked them to do to accomodate my other job. Maybe I won't have to quit so soon now. I do enjoy most of the people I work with and the perks of the job are very nice.
It's cold this morning. Frosted last night. Maybe it will help my allergies. The cold reminds me of last winter, which makes me yearn for the time I spent with you. Why do I miss you so much? I'm afraid you hate me even though you say you don't. Current Mood: awake Current Music: Muse - Absolution
